Interim Pastor - Jim Lester
We are so blessed to have Pastor Jim Lester and his wife, Ellen, with us at Fairview Church of the Nazarene!
Pastor Jim graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College in 1971 and became a youth pastor. Around the same time, Pastor Jim and Ellen met at a singles retreat and married after a year of dating. They have been married for over 38 years! They have two sons, Christopher (35) and Steven (31). Christopher and his wife have a two-year old son and another son on the way. Steven and his wife have two daughters, ages 10 and 12. Both of their sons live in the area, and Jim and Ellen enjoy spending as much time with them as possible!
Before coming to Fairview for this interim period as we search for a long-term minister, Pastor Jim and Ellen led congregations in Great Falls, Montana for 9 years, on the Illinois District for 17 years, and the Missouri District for 2 years. Pastor Jim also pastored at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene here in Nampa for almost 11 years.
Pastor Jim and Ellen enjoy reading for pleasure, going on long drives to explore, being with their children and grandchildren as much as possible, and the Oregon Coast. They would love to get to the coast more than they do! Ellen also enjoys rubber stamping.

Children's Pastor - Alyce Elsberg
Pastor Alyce loves kids! She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education and has worked in Children's Ministry for nearly 20 years. Her family is an integral part of ministry as well. Husband Brad teams with Pastor Alyce to teach Fairview's Children's Church for those in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Pastor Alyce taps into Brad's creativity to make our Bible-based Children's Ministry interactive and fun, complete with a fantastic Youth Puppet Team. Their own college-age children, Josiah and Melodi, also work hard helping in the nursery, the puppet team, and other areas in the church.
